Mike & Tara Peterson came to Grand Island more than 10 years ago with 2 dogs of their own.  They quickly learned there was a need for help in the dog rescue community and began volunteering.  From fostering to fundraising, there wasn't anything they wouldn't do to help the dogs in need.   However, they soon realized that even after adoption, dogs and their owners still needed help in the community.  Mike & Tara bought the kennel property in 2021 and quickly began renovations to meet the community's needs.  They added fencing for play yards, enlarged and strengthened the kennels, and created an indoor play space and much more.  With the help of many family members, friends, and other local businesses Major League Kennels opened for business in 2023!
